CAREDRIVER - THE ONDEMAND FAMILY HELPER THAT WILL ROCK YOUR WORLD
One year ago, we faced a serious challenge: busy at work, we realized that our kids don’t have all the free time options they want… and need. On top, our parents wanted to go for a walk in the park or needed to see the doctor. We had to compromise working hours or children’s hobbies, and we were sure other families face the same struggle.
This challenge became the bathwater for CareDriver, our ondemand family helper.
The Munichbased startup enables overworked parents to order trusted help for kids and seniors via a smartphone app. CareDriver is now operating for 8 months at full throttle, has carried out over 600 successful jobs and has been featured in Süddeutsche Zeitung and München TV.
Time to talk to Markus Feichtinger, CEO of CareDriver, about the next steps.
WHAT’S NEW WITH CAREDRIVER, MARKUS?
Two key things: We’re expanding to a new location. This is the biggest update right now. We’ve tested CareDriver carefully, decided to take a leap into unknown waters and help families outside of Munich. Also, we will launch a new and improved version of the app. We will implement new features to enhance customer experience and usability.
WHERE WILL YOU GO TO?
We can't say this right now, due to a few confidentiality agreements in place. But I can say this: it will be a city with a long tradition and a lot of hardworking families who will appreciate CareDriver.
DO YOU PLAN MORE LOCATIONS?
Not in the next months. We have to settle first. Organic growth is important for us; we have to find the right team members and CareProfs to do quality work. For us it will always be more important to provide the best service where we already are, instead of expanding just for the sake of it.
WHAT MAKES CAREDRIVER DIFFERENT FROM SIMILAR SERVICES?
The safety. We hire all our helpers and know them personally. People who work for us had to go through a rigorous vetting process. We only hire helpers whom we would trust with our own kids or parents. That makes us different from platformbased services out there.
WHAT’S YOUR LONGTERM VISION FOR CAREDRIVER?
I want families all around the world to enjoy the highest level of freedom and mobility possible and spend quality time together. My midterm vision is to grow CareDriver into a nationwide service and help as many families as possible.
